FIT4FOOTBALL - INVITE TO ALL COACHES - Sunday 29 April
Blair Minton, Player Welfare Officer from New Zealand Football, is coming to Nelson early next term to deliver Fit4Football courses.
He is very keen to get into all clubs and in particular those clubs that have not yet had him deliver to them.
We would like to see all of our coaches get along to his sessions, juniors, youth and seniors. There is absolutely know cost to you.

What is Fit4Football?
Fit4Football is the Player Welfare department of New Zealand Football. Our aim is to help create an environment in all levels of football were players thrive through:
- A player centred approach to ensure that players are developed, supported and grow holistically in all areas
- Enabling and supporting growth and development, building physically and mentally sound and strong players
- Being proactive rather than reactive, with sound systems, processes and procedures that support players and their best interests
- Educating coaches, parents, management, medical personnel and others around the role they play in supporting the health, safety and well-being of players from grassroots through to high performance

11+ Kids Course
The 11+ Kids is a whole new Injury Prevention Warm Up program resource tailored for 4-12 year old footballers. This contains a series of different exercises designed to help kids develop their fundamental movement patterns while additionally being proven to reduce children’s injuries in football by 38-50% and also improve their physical performance. Coaches will understand the background to the program, the physical characteristics of our junior footballers and most importantly have a series of new games for which to use with their team this season. The 11+ is a complete warm-up programme to reduce injuries among male and female football players aged 14 years and older and enhance their performance by making them fitter, faster and stronger. The programme was developed by an international group of experts, and its effectiveness has been proven in several scientific studies. Teams that performed the 11+ at least twice a week had 30-50% fewer injured players. The programme should be performed, as a standard warm-up, at the start of each training session at least twice a week, and it takes around 20 minutes to complete. It should also be completed prior to matches however only utilising the running exercises so will take less time. The programme has been rolled out in other major footballing countries around the world including Germany, Brazil, Spain and Japan. Following completion of these courses coaches will have sufficient knowledge of both programmes and how they relate to the different age groups they are working with.
